Booking Information

For Careers Events, booking will open two weeks before each event and will close when the session is fully booked or at the latest, one working day before the event. For more information about how to book Careers Events click here.

For Students' Union UCL Events, booking will close four hours before the event start time or, when the event is full, whichever is sooner, and is on a first come first served basis. Anyone booking for a session which is already fully booked will be placed on a waiting list and informed by email of the status of their booking. If a place becomes available, every effort we be made to contact the booker via email and/or telephone to add them to the event.

Deposit: Please note that Students' Union UCL operates a policy of taking a termly deposit for our events. When you book an event you must make a payment of 10 pounds either online through the link you are sent when you sign up to the event or, by visiting the Clubs and Societies Reception on the 2nd Floor of the Bloomsbury Theatre Building (15 Gordon Stret) any weekday during term time 10:00am - 21:00pm. Outside of term time events will have an explanation of terms attached to them.

When you receive confirmation of your application to join a workshop you have seven calendar days to pay this deposit. If you do not you will be removed from the list attendees for the workshop and must re-apply again if you wish to attend.

If the session is less than seven days away you must pay the deposit as soon as possible but no later than one working day before the event. If you have not paid by this point you will be removed from the list of attendees.

If you have booked for more than one event in the term you only have to pay the deposit once and providing you attend / cancel within the guidelines above your deposit will be carried forward to future events. If you fail to attend one event but wish to attend others you have seven calendar days to pay a new deposit for the next event. If the next even you are registered on is less than seven calendar days away you must pay your deposit as soon as possible.

Overbooking: Skills4Work at Students' Union UCL operates a policy of overbooking for events. This means that more attendees are recruited for sessions than there are places avavailable as, on occasion, members do not attend sessions (ill health for example) and we would like events to be at capacity to get the best value for money possible. If you are refused entry to an event you can 'guarantee' a place at the next session by requesting this service via

In the event of a full session attendees will first be asked to 'volunteer' to leave in order to guarantee a future place. Then, they will be asked to leave starting with the last to arrive.

Lateness: The advertised start time is the actual start time of the event. You should arrive at the location of the event at least ten minutes before it starts. If an event has already started and you have arrived late you will be refused entry. It is your responsibility to note and record the location of the event, find it and allow adequate time for travel. If you are unsure where the location of an event is you should find it on the website. If you cannot find it there please make sure you email in good time before the event to ask for directions.

Filming: Students' Union UCL produces a range of print and electronic media and online information. On occasion it will take photographs (moving and still, with or without sound recordings). By attending the event you are giving your consent as the individual concerned for the Union to record imagery that may contain yourself at this event. Please note that there is no guarantee that any imagery taken will actually be used.
