Commercial Insight

Relationship Building and Networking

Interest in Law

Business Awareness

Leading and Managing

In 2015, we were named number one law firm in the Chambers Global Top 30 for the second year running – one of numerous awards we’ve won over the years. Little wonder, then, organisations turn to us not just for legal expertise but for advice on their most critical business issues.

Joining us means sharing our ambitions and willingness to grasp new opportunities, and developing your potential as part of an exceptionally talented legal team.

Diversity is also important to us. It brings fresh perspectives and helps us serve our clients better. That’s why we are committed to growing our diverse workforce and making Clifford Chance a place where everyone feels included. We run a number of exciting student initiatives related to ethnicity, social mobility, disability and LGBT.

We have opportunities for students within each year of study, across Law and Non-Law subjects.

Training Contract (Law and Non-Law) applications and Vacation Schemes (including Springboard programme) will be closing on the 3rd January 2017.

UCL Alumni Profile: Charlotte Holt

Current Role: Trainee Solicitor

Studied at UCL: BA Modern Languages (French and German)

"The skills I learnt from my degree at UCL are very transferable. My degree helped me to develop good communication and time management skills as well as being able to critically analyse documents, have a good level of attention to detail and work in teams effectively. My degree also taught me to be resilient and hardworking. This skill is really appreciated at Clifford Chance.

One of the best parts of my degree was the opportunity to study abroad. This taught me to be adaptable in new situations and to be sensitive to cultural differences. This is particularly important at Clifford Chance as I deal daily with clients and other lawyers from all over the world. I often have to think quickly on my feet when clients call me.

During my training contract so far I have taken advantage of a number of opportunities, including working abroad in the Paris office. I think it is important to make the most of all the opportunities on offer at UCL as well as at Clifford Chance – you never know where the next opportunity lies."
