London Stock Exchange Group

London Stock Exchange Group look for the following skills when recruiting graduates:

We offer two graduate programmes – one in business and the other in technology. Both routes prepare you for a leadership role.

The distinctive feature of these schemes, which set them aside from many others, is the opportunity to complete three distinct six-month rotations in any one of our key business areas.  This not only means more variety, but also the chance to gain a clear understanding of London Stock Exchange Group and develop your broad commercial awareness.

For our business programmes, we look for strong academic performers from any degree discipline. You will also have a genuine interest in financial markets, natural curiosity, a strong work ethic and clear leadership qualities.

For our technology programmes, your degree doesn’t necessarily have to be in a subject such as computer science, we also look for science, technology, engineering, mathematics. It is important, however, that you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in the world of finance.

UCL Alumni Profile: Karolina Puczynska

LSEG_POD_GRADUATE_KAROLINA

Studied at UCL: MSci in Mathematics with Mandarin

Current Role: Credit Risk Team

"I graduated from UCL with an MSci in Mathematics with Mandarin in May 2013 and went straight to LSEG for a summer internship. For 8 weeks i worked with the MTS BondVision (an electronic bond-trading venue) Sales team, and was offered to fast-track to the graduate class of 2014. Between my internship and the graduate programme i went for a one-year scholarship to China to continue learning Mandarin.

I started the LSEG programme in September 2014 in the Group Strategy team and have worked on projects involving market research, creating business models or peer group analysis. For my second 6-month placement I chose the Credit Risk team at LCH.Clearnet, where I am responsible for assigning internal credit rating scores to the Clearing House’s counterparties.

LSEG is an extremely diverse place to work and this reflects the Group’s reach across so many different locations and markets. Much of the work we do is project based, each day is different and I never know quite what to expect when I arrive in the morning. It’s great to be getting this level of exposure at this stage of my career."
